Many situations may cause the loss of bone within the jaws. It could be a direct result of a birth defect. In other instances, it could be due to cancer or another type of periodontal disease.

There is no pain experienced during the sinus lift surgery. Immediately following the procedure, there may be some degree of discomfort. This discomfort may extend out for a few days during the immediate healing process.

In most instances, over-the-counter medications such as Advil Dual Action will help in eliminating the discomfort. However, ensure that this medication is appropriate by inquiring to the practitioner that performed the procedure. 

How Long Does It Take to Completely Recover from a Sinus Lift Surgery?

In most instances, the recovery from a sinus lift surgery is approximately six months. For some, it may be slightly less and for others, it could be slightly longer. Once completely healed, the dental implants may be added to the mouth.
